A Senior Sendoff

From Monday, April 29th to Friday, May 3rd, the Senior Class of 2024 embraced the final week of their four, and for some seven, years at Xaverian.

“My last week was bittersweet. Many of my friends and I have been here for seven years. It’s going to be weird not walking through those blue doors as a student ever again,” Simon Bacayo ‘24 commented. “The last week was a really great conclusion to my time here at Xaverian.”

The Senior Week began with a “Starbucks Surprise” on Monday, as seniors walked into school to see a table with loads of Starbucks coffee at the entrance. It was a strong start to a very strong week.

Tuesday was a Throwback Tuesday, as the seniors and staff decorated a cafeteria wall with pictures of themselves throughout the years. Seniors enjoyed a walk down memory lane as they saw pictures on the wall. Seniors also saw their freshman-year pictures side-by-side with their graduation ones on the TVs around the building.

On Wednesday, seniors brought in an extra shirt to school, and it was not because they needed a change of clothes! Seniors harbored a shirt and a marker during the day for classmates, teachers, and friends to sign.

Seniors enjoyed a Clipper dress-down day on Thursday as they wore their Xaverian colors outside of their Xaverian uniform. After the final bell, Thursday could be considered a sports day as seniors watched the Athletic Signing Ceremony in the auditorium.

After the ceremony, seniors took part in the annual Senior vs. Faculty softball game. The seniors were excited to partake in one final competition at Xaverian and left beat as the Faculty defeated the seniors.

On the last day of Senior Week, seniors enjoyed a breakfast of pancakes, bacon, and sausage served by the deans in the morning. They also relished in their last official dress-down, as seniors wore their college sweaters.

“I’m looking forward to senior year,” said Junior Michael Casillo ‘25, about his next year. “I feel like it’s going to be a lot of fun.” The underclassmen said their goodbyes to their friends on Friday, as it was the senior’s last day of classes.

“After all these years at Xaverian, it’s going to be sad to see our friends go. I’m really going to miss a lot of people that aren’t seniors and would like to do one last big event with them before all is said and done,” Michael suggested.

We miss all of our seniors already and wish them the best of luck in their future college & career ventures. We know you’ll do amazing!
