2022 Season Recap
The 22-23 football season was an improvement from last year’s season when the Varsity Football Team finished the season 5-4 in the competitive NYCHSFL. The Clippers were 4-1 in their division and won a playoff game against Cardinal Spellman, advancing to the Quarterfinals and were eventually defeated by a tough Mount Saint Michael team.
The year kicked off with a big season opener against rival Xavier. Although the Clippers were defeated, the team played hard and showed many signs of improvement. The team then had two big division wins over Holy Cross and then a big homecoming victory over Mount Saint Michael in a rainstorm. The highlight game of the season was a comeback victory over Kennedy Catholic. The boys overcame a 21-point deficit to defeat Kennedy 28-21 in overtime.
Overall, it was a successful season, and with three returning sophomores and a host of juniors returning, the team is looking forward to continuing the climb!
