Season Outlook 2021-2022

The 2021-2022 basketball season is just a bit different from any other.  After a year’s hiatus, the varsity girls are more than a little excited to take the court again.

“The girls are thrilled to be back playing basketball,” said Head Coach Mark Spelman ’92.  “The kids need this.  Some of them have been waiting a very long time to wear a Xaverian jersey.”

Having seen the program’s first seniors graduate in 2020 and missing last season because of the pandemic, the team actually has no one with varsity experience; something that has Spelman concerned but, not worried.

“We’re a young but very talented group working to get better every day,” he said.  “I think we’re going to be that team nobody wants to play in February.”
