Having danced for most of her childhood, Jessica Healey took up cheerleading in the footsteps of her mother, who was a Brooklyn Hurricanes cheerleader for most of her life. Cheering for local football teams and being a part of a squad is what built her genuine adoration for the sport. She was a base spot and occasionally a back spot where she learned to support and compete which she took with her, making her a better coach and teacher.
Prior to her six years coaching JV Xaverian Cheer, Jessica Healey coached for five years for both the varsity and junior varsity cheerleading teams at Bishop Kearney High School. Being the first coach to take Kearney to compete at states was one of her proudest coaching moments. Alongside coaching, she also became the Bishop Kearney Athletic Director, supporting and organizing all of the girls’ sports with BQGCHSAA.
Jessica hopes to continue to bring her love for the sport and experience to Xaverian’s amazing cheer program and add more plaques to the already growing wall. She hopes to soon bring the sport into her own daughter’s life and while she grows continue watching this program grow, too.
