Xaverian held its 64th commencement exercises honoring 332 graduating seniors on Saturday, June 1st at the Christian Cultural Center in Brooklyn.

The ceremony began with an invocation by Fr. Sean Suckiel, the school’s Chaplain.

 

Xaverian President, Robert Alesi ’78, implored the graduates to continue to change the world they touch. 

 

“Your education now continues outside the walls of Xaverian,” said Alesi. “There is so much left to learn.  I am certain, however, that you have been given a solid foundation.  We send you into a world desperately in need of those who will lead, inspire and serve.  You have all that you need to make a difference in this world, and I know that you will.”

 

Valedictorian Christopher LeDoux, who will enroll in the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell BS/MD in September, shared his excitement for the possibilities that lie ahead for the Class of 2024.  

 

“We must be cognizant that the work we are composing for ourselves is nowhere near complete, and instead, we are, once again, embarking on a new and independent chapter of our lives.”

 

Salutatorian Emily Encarnacion, who will major in Biochemistry at Boston College, reflected on the experiences shared with her classmates and how they will shape their futures.

 

“The Xaverian values that have been instilled in us throughout high school will continue to help us grow and emerge as steadfast forces in society.”

 

Daniel Sharib ‘96, Xaverian’s Principal, shared his thoughts on the graduating class.

“I could not be more proud of the young men and women that we are sending into the world,” he said. “They represent the best of us. They are men and women of service who understand what it means to be part of a community and a family. They are Xaverian’s best ambassadors.”
