Recognizing the Class of 2024's Success

Alexandria Salvato
On May 20th, the Class of 2024 celebrated their academic accomplishments at Our Lady of Angels Church with administration, faculty, family, and friends. Senior Awards Night was a night to remember as the Xaverian community said goodbye to our seniors.

Awards were split into two different categories: some awards were given for core subjects while others were given for elective pathways. Pre-professional pathway awards were given to students who excelled in engineering, biomedical science, law, the arts, and more.

In terms of academic awards, students with an average of 90% and above for all four years of their high school journey were recognized. There were also higher-level awards given to those with a 95% or higher cumulative GPA.

Academic recognition was also given to students who were unparalleled in their work for specific subjects. This refers to students who had the highest averages in subjects like mathematics and English in their class, distinguishing them from their peers in that aspect.

17 students received these prestigious medals honoring their work in their respective studies.

To add to the excitement of the night, the valedictorian and salutatorian of the Class of 2024 were announced. The title of class valedictorian was given to Christopher LeDoux ‘24, and the class salutatorian went to Emily Encarnacion ‘24.

Along with Senior Awards Night, the Presidential Awards Ceremony also took place on Alumni Hall’s outdoor deck on May 22nd.

27 students gathered with their families on Wednesday to celebrate their achievements and receive their presidential cups. After Mr. Alesi ‘78 said a few words congratulating them, Mr. Sharib ‘96 and Mr. Spelman ‘92 announced the recipients of each award and took pictures with the students.

“The Cup ceremony is one that is symbolic of the multifaceted nature of Xaverian as an institution. It’s a testament to the nature of cultivation of the whole individual as shown through the plethora of awards being distributed to the hardworking students of 7100 Shore Road. I was honored to receive both the General Excellence and Musical Excellence awards, as I am now etched in a lasting legacy that has served as the foundation of the lives of many successful individuals,” said Valedictorian Chris LeDoux ‘24.

The cups represent not only the students’ achievements but also their place in Xaverian’s community that lasts forever.
