Chris Oliviero is an experienced and well-respected media executive specializing in driving business growth through innovative content and distribution strategies. Oliviero’s 22-year tenure at CBS Corporation began as an intern for The Howard Stern Show in 1996 and culminated as the chief content executive for CBS Radio’s 117 stations in 26 markets reaching over 65mm listeners each week. He is best known for his expertise in news, sports, and talk where he built or evolved the most successful audio brands coast to coast in both audience and revenue. Oliviero also mentored high-performing teams in research, live events, and talent relations.
Oliviero’s more than two decades at CBS was marked by many accomplishments. He launched 20 local sports radio stations, set the industry trend of moving sports audio from AM to FM, and founded the CBS SPORTS RADIO national syndication network. Additionally, he was instrumental in building an award-winning collection of over 40 play-by-play partnerships which included marquee franchises such as the New York Yankees, Chicago Cubs, New England Patriots, and Philadelphia Eagles. This portfolio of sports assets produced over 300 hours per day of original audio content reaching over 9 million+ listeners weekly.
In 2015, Billboard Magazine named Oliviero to both their “40 Under 40” and “The Power 100” list. He was also an original member of the Brooklyn Sports & Entertainment Advisory Board at the Barclays Center from 2014-2019. Oliviero currently serves on the nominating committee of the National Radio Hall of Fame in Chicago and is a member of The New York State Broadcasters Association.
In June 2020, Oliviero was named SVP/Market Manager for Audacy’s eight New York City radio stations, where he serves as the lead executive for WFAN-AM/FM, 1010 WINS, WCBS-AM, WCBS-FM, WNYL, WNEW, and WNSH. Audacy is a premiere audio company formed by the 2017 merger of CBS Radio and Entercom Communications.
Oliviero was born, raised, and continues to reside in Brooklyn, NY. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications from New York University and is a proud member of Xaverian’s Class of 1994.
