2022 Season Outlook

The Varsity Clippers are looking to pick up where they left off last season – on St. John’s turf capturing the Brooklyn-Queens Championship!  It was Varsity Baseball’s seventh CHSAA title since the millennium.

And all systems are GO for the upcoming season!

The Clippers will combine a cast of seniors, along with juniors who graduated JV and even a smattering of sophomores to round out the roster. Big seasons are expected from senior hitters Jaylen Hernandez, Rob Agoglia, Brandan Mancusi, Vito Demonte, Mason Barrios, Thomas Remmen, and Jack Ryan, who has committed to LIU to play Division-One baseball in 2023.

The pitching staff is expected to be anchored by sophomore sensation Christian Trantino and senior Jakob Anderson. Seniors Rob Agoglia, Vito Demonte, Gabe Nocera, Arjun Joseph, and Ryan Molen will also play a key role on the mound.

It will be a junior double-play combination with Xavier Webb (who started as a sophomore last season) at shortstop and either Vin Olivero or Nick Touma at second.

Coach Frank DelGeorge begins his lucky 13th season as the Clippers’ coach. His assistants are Greg DelGeorge (9th year coaching), Mike Lope (19th year coach), and Joe Fasaro (1st year coaching here).
